Eight members of the Sarnia Rapids swim team competed at the Laser Blast Invitational swim met in Windsor this past January, picking up a plethora of medals in the process.

Rapids veteran Maddisson Hawryluk took home four medals from the meet, getting gold in the 100m and 200m breaststroke competitions while picking up a pair of silvers in the 200m freestyle and 50m breastroke races.

Daisy Jenkins also earned four medals at the meet, getting gold in the 50m breastroke, silver in the 100m breastroke and the 200m individual medley as well as a bronze medal in the 200m breastroke.
Jack Girardi picked up a bronze in the 50m backstroke race.

The team is continuing to train and work towards qualifying standards for upcoming festival and provincial level meets.
